The free adaptation of the famous Hans Christian Andersen’s tale recounts ISABELLE’s story,
a young girl with a pure heart going to Paris to accomplish her dream:
become an Opera Prima Ballerina.
VICTOR, a famous Opera choreographer is launching a phenomenal project:
stage the damned ballet « Les Souliers Rouges ».
The legend relates the Shaddows have been haunting the Opera House’s corridors because of this
ballet and had hidden a paire of red shoes. These magical shoes are cursed : "The one who will
wear these shoes will be famous but must give up love, otherwise the damnation will be terrible».
Tirelessly, VICTOR is looking for his heroin and as in Cinderella, the red shoes choose their Prima
Ballerina, the lovely ISABELLE...
The ballet is acclaimed. But VICTOR knows the Shadows will not let him live this success so easily.
BEN, a young and handsome journalist falls in love with ISABELLE and despite him, puts her at risk.
Isabelle, the Prima Ballerina
Isabelle is a young girl with a pure heart who comes to Paris to accomplish her dream: become a Prima Ballerina.
She is honnest and innocent, works night and day despite the pain of her body led by her passion for dancing.
Once her dream of becoming a Prima Ballerina accomplished, she is confront for the first time to Love.
She must choose between her life as an artiste or as a woman: impossible dilemma…
Victor, the Choreographer
Victor is the choreographer of the Opera House.
Haunted by his desire of glory, he decides to stage the damned ballet « Les Souliers Rouges » and sees in Isabelle the dancer capable of giving
up love to become a Prima Ballerina.
He becomes her Pygmalion et seeks to keep her under his control.
Ben, the Journalist
Ben is a young reporter passionate of dance.
He progressivily falls under Isabelle’s charms when he sees her performing « The Red Shoes » ballet.
Enchanted by the dancer’s beauty, he is falls madly in love with her and despiste him, puts her at risk: Isabelle is not allowed to love…
